Best Foundations

A question I’m probably asked most by people is what foundation is right for them, and there really isn’t a one size fits all answer. I did however narrow it down to a few I found to be the most effective and on what type of skin they work.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer: If you don’t like the feeling of anything heavy on your face, are looking to save steps by combining moisturizing benefits with makeup and have relatively good skin that doesn’t need a ton of coverage this is your guy.

Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Foundation: If you have perpetually troubled skin and are looking for a full coverage makeup for occasions, this is it. I frequently use this on brides who break out before the big day. It glides on, provides great coverage and lasts all day. I wouldn’t recommend this for everyday use though- look to Estee Lauder Double Wear for fuller coverage all-day wear.

I wrote an earlier post about this magic liquid. It’s sheer, covers well, is great for everyday and comes in a huge array of shades. When in doubt, head to Sephora and try it out.

Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick: If your skin isn’t troubled or really oily this creamy, buildable stick is for you. You might also want to consider it if you travel since it can be an all-in-one foundation and concealer without a messy bottle that could potentially leak. Just dab it in the center of your face where the bulk of your discoloration is and blend away.
