Kiehl’s Super Multi Corrective Eye Opening Serum

Kiehl’s has finally convinced me that their eye creams are as good or better than the higher priced ones I’ve been buying for years. Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado ($28) has been my go-to because I’m seeing fewer fine lines thanks to the targeted, intense hydration. Then a few months ago they sent over their Super Multi Corrective Eye Opening Serum, a more deluxe solution for those needing firming and lifting as well as softening which helps makeup to glide right over. It feels so light because the Sodium Hyaluronate in it creates a weightless film of hydration on the skin. That combined with the illuminating minerals make it a perfect daytime solution to get your eyes looking brighter and more awake.

The efficacy of their line has me looking into their Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution serum that comes with a 28 day money back guarantee if it doesn’t work. I still can’t seem to find a really targeted serum for my melasma and dark spots that doesn’t have hydraquinone or isn’t part of some expensive skincare system. $50 and a guarantee doesn’t sounds pretty reasonable to me.

What to Use For Crow’s Feet and Dry Eyes; Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment

Maybe it’s all the smiling I do, or maybe it’s all the tanning I used to do.. either way my crow’s feet are horrible. I used to Botox the hell outta that whole area, but then I look dull when I smile and then I can’t squint so when I went outside I’d be all dramatic like a vampire in the sunshine covering my eyes while they’d water in reaction to the brightness. Terrible right? So now I just up my hydration around my eyes which helps a ton with the wrinkles. Think about it- when your hands are dry they literally crack and look all old lady-ish. Same goes for the skin around your eyes. Getting a good dose of moisture not only lessens the look of lines, but it gives a vibrancy and glow – it erases that dullness that dehydration causes. This is why for years I’ve paid way too much for eye creams. Some $60 some $100, the thicker the better but I’m so beyond thrilled with the new Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado Kiehl’s sent me recently so now my eye cream will set me back less than $30.

Forget the complicated buzz-words surrounding products that claim to turn back time using unpronounceable ingredients, anti-aging is all about protection (SPF & antioxidants), and hydration. Period. Even if you have oily skin, you should be slathering on a thick eye cream to keep that delicate area as moist as possible. Creamy Eye Treatment has a very unique texture, the thickest I’ve used. It’s strange at first because I’m used to formulas that are less weighty and rub right in. This formula needs to be patted on and given a few seconds to absorb but once it does, there isn’t a greasy after-feel and makeup will smooth right over. I love it so much that I’ll put a few thick layers on at night because my skin just drinks it up. It’s not fussy, or heavily scented, or in some fancy gold jar- but it works and I will certainly buy it when I’m out. And then more when I’m out of that one too.

Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Limited Edition Grapefruit Whipped Body Butter

Kiehl’s has a limited Grapefruit scented version of their legendary Creme de Corps, a fluffy cream with a fresh citrusy scent. It’s the consistency of whipped icing and the smallest amount goes a long way to soften skin for hours.

Forget the boring candles and grab this for a white elephant or any gift where you need something easy that’s a sure thing.

Kiehl’s Super Multi-Corrective Cream

When Kiehl’s asked if I’d be willing to try out their new Super Multi-Corrective Cream for 2 weeks for review I already knew it had to be something special. It’s a pretty confident ask after all; having Beauty Editors commit to a review after using it for such a short amount of time. What if it wasn’t long enough to see a difference, or worse yet what if I hated it and had to write a super awkward review like an ‘at least I liked the purple jar’ type of thing.

Lucky for me I don’t hate it. In fact I love it. I like it so well that I just returned the Ole moisturizer I bought recently that I’d been using on and off for a few years. Compared to this cream, Ole’s just felt flat and almost runny. It certainly didn’t stand up to this cream’s texture and it didn’t have nearly as many benefits. It strikes that perfect balance of being thick but not greasy and moisturizing but not heavy while using scientific advancements married with proven natural ingredients. It completely melts into the skin and gives the type of softness that feels like baby skin and not something artificial from a jar. It’s how my face feels after a facial, like it’s brand new.

It’s meant to lift, firm, and repair damaged skin using Jasmonic Acid (plant-based), Beech Tree Extract, and Fragmented Hyaluronic Acid which gives that big drink of hydration. I can see the texture of my skin is better from getting the moisture it needs so even my makeup blends in easier and my cheeks have a healthy glow. It’s too early to get the long-term benefits but I believe it’s doing great things (and it’s safe for pregnancy, yay!) so I’ll stick with it and be faithful to this little jar.

Kiehl’s BB Cream

I feel like a BB Cream expert at this point. There aren’t too many out there I haven’t tried so I can tell right away when one is good, or if it’s just a cleverly marketed foundation thrown out there to join the BB craze. I knew I’d like Kiehl’s BB Cream from a skincare perspective, because that’s what they do so well but would it hold its weight as a good foundation? Surprisingly, yes.

The first thing I noticed is how smooth the formula is, almost like a good moisturizer it glides into the skin which makes it really easy to put on and blend using just your fingers. I also love the SPF 50 because I’m outside so much during the day that the extra protection is worth it. The coverage is as good as any daily foundation and better than most BB Creams actually. It hides imperfections so well that I don’t have to go back in with a concealer for minor things and it wears nicely all day long.

I find that the shades run a hint darker, so look for one lighter than you normally wear. Also, because of its hydrating nature, it might be too moisturizing for really oily skin, but those with combination, normal, and dry will  appreciate the smooth feel and natural looking finish.

Relief for Stressed Skin: Kiehl’s Skin Rescuer Stress-Minimizing Daily Hydrator

Saying to someone ‘You look really stressed’ isn’t a compliment, in fact I’m pretty sure it’s code for you look like shit. See also: ‘You look tired,’ ‘ are you feeling ok?’ and ‘is something wrong?’

Stress changes the way we look. Not only is stress known to be one of the biggest overall aging factors, but it also alters benchmarks in the skin that signal to people that we’re not doing well. Kiehl’s has pinpointed these traits – inflammation, redness, dryness, and uneven texture as the telltale signs that your skin is poorly responding to stress which they refer to as ‘features of aging.’ They developed their new Skin Rescuer Stress-Minimizing Daily Hydrator ($40) specifically to target these features and to block them from damaging your skin long term. It also brings down inflammation while neuropeptides limit stress in the skin while building up better resistance to future damage.

If you’re super stressed and not looking quite like yourself lately, check out their short vid HERE which really breaks down the science how it can help your skin look calm and healthy.
