Check Out May’s People StyleWatch (…And Not Just Because I’m In It.)

Did you catch me in this month’s issue of People StyleWatch magazine?? On Page 151 to be specific. There you’ll find coupons for $2 off Bio True contact lens solution and Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Hair Texturizing Cream. Beyond that though you’ll see 50 beauty tips including makeup tricks and cute outfit ideas.

Sidebar: I’m obsessed with Bio True and have bought it at Costco for years. Since I started using it, my contacts last over a month so I save huge on lenses.

Crown Brush Sale

Chances are, you can use some new brushes. When’s the last time you bought a few new tools that will guarantee an easier and better looking result for your makeup application? I just bought two huge brush sets from Crown Brushes on my Hautelook app (which I use far too often) for my kit to replace a few that were falling apart. I bought 2 big brush sets with 38 total brushes for $70, a good price for everything I got since I know that brushes typically run $20 – $30 a pop.

Below you’ll see THIS 12 piece set on sale right now for $9. Buy it! You’ll be so happy you did especially since it has some smaller, more precision eye shadow brushes so you can easily stay in-bounds for a more polished look.

Birchbox for the Holidays

I finally got to try out Birchbox, the original sampling service for beauty products and I’m beyond smitten. Every month you get 4-5 sample or deluxe sample sizes and you’ll not only get your $10 worth, but you’ll also be introduced to something fabulous that you probably wouldn’t have known about otherwise.

My Birchbox included:

Juicy Couture: Signature fragrance

Miracle Skin Transformer: Hydroactive Microderm Cleanser

One Love Organics: Aromatic Body Serum in Lavender

Oscar Blandi: Pronto Invisible Volumizing Dry Shampoo

theBalm: Mary-Lou Manizer (eye shadow & highlighter)

Chuao Chocolatier: Mini ChocoPod (chocolate bar)

Adorably packaged, just the right size.

A look at the goods.

Gift pouch included for the holidays, just in case you want to share!

I could do a whole separate post on Miracle Skin Transformer’s Microderm Cleanser- little sloughing granules in a creamy cleanser that you massage into the skin for a minute or so until it grabs onto dead skin which start to roll off. It works like a professional microdermabrasion treatment! I loved it (not surprising since their primer and concealer rank among my all time favs), and will be 100% buying it once my sample runs out.

Also a shout out to one of my favorite organic lines, One Love- this lavender body serum is a beautiful and light alternative to everyday perfumes, it’s just so hydrating and perfect.

AND- theBalm’s shadow that I got blew away Stila’s Kitten for the best shimmery champagne shadow. It’s light going on without a hint of orange, just a perfectly neutral nude that you can use for shadow, highlighting, inner corners, and for a trick I love doing- blend a fingertip sized dot into the middle of your lips on top of any lip color you’re wearing. It will add a pop of shimmer and interest to the lips that’s subtle but so pretty.

For $30 you get a 3 month subscription making this one of the easiest and best gifts to give. Something she’ll be opening and enjoying long after the holidays are over.
