SPF sticks are everything. I toss them in the car (and diaper bag) so I have sun protection with me at all times. A few weeks ago I bought a new California Baby one and then a week later I was sent another from All Good. I’ve used them both a few times, so I can let you know which one came out ahead so you won’t waste your money on something you’ll never use.
EWG Safety Rating: 1
Price: $15
Type of protection: SPF 30 Titanium dioxide 17%
Organic Ingredients Used? No
Feel: I had such a hard time spreading it on my kids’ faces that it was basically useless. It was sticky and it left a whitish almost lavender color behind even when I did my best to rub it in.
Overall: I really wanted to love this stick. We use a ton of California Baby and have never been let down by the line before because they make such great products, this just wasn’t one of them.

Price: $8
Type of protection: SPF 30 Non-nano Zinc 20%
Organic Ingredients Used? Yes
Feel: Moisturizing and soothing, like a lotion bar actually. The scent is subtle, more on the coconut side and not like sunscreen at all. There is zero whitening going on so I’ve been able to use it too.
Overall: I really liked this stick a lot and it will be the one that I use most often in the diaper bag. If you have kids you know that you have just seconds to get the sunscreen on and rubbed in before they totally veto the whole idea and the cooperation ends, so ease of application is everything.
No matter what SPF you choose this summer, (they only keep for a year, so you’re due!) store it in your car for emergencies so you’ll never suffer another burn again.
