Happy Thanksgiving! If nothing else, 2020 has taught us all to be grateful. ❤️

Mike wanted to make our first turkey. (Not sure who’s actually going to eat it?!) but so far we’ve almost started a fire, and had a neighbor bail us out for loaning us a brining bucket (Mike wanted to use a TRASH BAG). Check it all out in stories & highlights after tomorrow.

I’m getting back to beauty (so happy to say that!) today on the blog. My 13 year blog-a-versary was the other day and I still can’t believe it has been that long. I remember having to explain what a blog was to people for my first few years. It’s fitting that I’m talking about another original, @enessaorganicskincare because I first reviewed the line 7 years ago, back when Goop was just a newsletter, and it was still a pretty fringe movement to use skincare that wasn’t sold at a department store. Enessa was one of the earliest organic skincare lines that actually delivered results and has been a cult fave for those in the know ever since.

Disneyland might not be in the cards for us this y

Disneyland might not be in the cards for us this year, but Moab turned out to be the wonderland we all needed. I wasn’t sure what we’d be doing with our days, but letting the girls loose in Arches was all we needed. We’re thankful for this adventure and can’t wait to explore more of what beautiful Utah has to offer when we return in February.

There really isn’t one photo that can sum up our adventure today. We knew we needed to get into Arches early since it’s a busy time here in Moab, but we slightly overshot our 8am goal and rolled in around 10:30 to a completely full park. We turned around and went down the street to Lion’s Park where the girls and I ended up biking 4 miles while Mike ran along side us.They always amaze me with what they can do, especially little Lola who is just 4 and can easily keep up with her sisters.

After that we had a picnic under a pavilion (it’s weird not having trees anywhere), then went back to Arches at a great time because we got right in.

When you enter the park and start the incline up, it isn’t long before you see the vast views of red rocks, blue skies, and hills in the distance. The massive rock sculptures along the way were so incredible that we pulled off a few times for photos and just to take it all in. We stopped first to check out Balanced Rock and hiked around exploring little caves and paths along the way before making another stop for more hiking and photos. We lucked out with beautiful weather in the 80’s and parking spaces that were easy to nab.

It was one of those days that was so fun and just flew by. We talk about how grateful we are to be able to do this together.

Debating Arches again tomorrow, Canyonlands, or just paddleboarding since we don’t have very many days on the water left this season. I think we’ll let the girls make the call in the morning. THANK YOU for your inboxes and recommendations which steered us in a good direction today. 🙏🏼🙌🏼🏔

Upon arrival I was sort of like ‘what’s the big deal’ here in Moab. Our campsite was a disaster, only a few feet from neighbors, with a tiny shared strip of grass with 2 picnic tables for both families who parked there. It just wasn’t going to work, but with them being sold out (along with every other campground in town) we had no choice but to beg for another spot.

We’re now backed up against the far corner of the property with no neighbors (yay) but the dirt area behind us is used for construction equipment to come and go as they expand their sewage system within the park during the day. It’s a fine trade off with the privacy and gorgeous view, and understandable because we made this reservation just weeks ago.

We went on a hike before dinner and were amazed by the bright red rocks that stretch into the sky. It’s not easily captured on camera, but is so awe-inspiring and completely unlike anything else I’ve experienced. Completely breathtaking and we can’t wait to see more.

Hoping for a decent night’s sleep 🤣 and some luck exploring tomorrow. Thank you for your messages and tips on where to go. I think we have our week planned! 🏕🏔

Our quick, one night stop turned out to be magical

Our quick, one night stop turned out to be magical. Our spot on one side opened to a trailhead and grassy space that the girls loved. We can hear the Colorado River rush from the RV and the ground here are incredible. I took tons of photos and was so sad to see the day slip away.

We had a sunset that lasted over an hour as it changed colors with pink clouds surrounding all around.

We aren’t in the middle of nowhere by any stretch, but this is glorious and relaxing and beautiful.

We are grateful to be here and can’t wait to see what this next week holds for us.

Anybody else just feeling blah lately? 🤷🏼‍♀️ With the election noise and the constant Covid updates it just feels overwhelming at times.

We were planing to take the fall off from camping to enjoy our favorite time of year, but are heading out today on a week-long adventure that we all NEED.

We’re heading to Moab to explore #archesnationalpark & #canyonlandsnationalpark We’ve never been so any tips on what we should see while we’re there are appreciated. ⛺️🏔🚵🏻‍♀️
