I’ve been exploring a whole new category of skincare and makeup made to help me look less exhausted. Because I do. Wherever I go, I look like I ran the whole way there. Tired, and about to collapse at any minute. Even though my girls are great sleepers, they’re still kids. This means that occasionally we’re woken up by nightmares that include tigers, monsters, puppets, and various villains from Disney movies. Not to mention Lola is still nursing once or twice a night and I don’t see that changing any time soon (although she did sleep through last night until 6am!) The truth is, I have 3 kids 3 and under and my face reflects exactly that fact.
100% Pure sent over this huge tube of their best selling Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream ($25) and because of its generous size, I’ve found the perfect way to use it- as an eye mask.
I was talking to a friend about this who actually owns this eye cream too. I told her to pat a good layer around her eyes in the morning post-cleanse (which is what I do), then let it set. Brush your teeth, get dressed, whatever. Then massage in what didn’t fully absorb and blot away whatever’s left of that (which for me is almost nothing.) She sort of paused then said ‘but I don’t want to use it all.’ What? How weird is that, but also how common? We buy these things almost as decor, to be beautiful on our counters and medicine cabinets which sit there for years until what’s inside goes bad. How often do you use something until the very end? Hint: With everything you own, the answer should be ‘all the time.’
Nothing you buy can make a difference in your skin sitting in its tube. And with ingredients (in this case) like Organic Aloe, Organic Rose Hydrosol, Rosehip Oil, Organic Green Coffee Seed Extract, and Green Tea Leaf Extract- all known to reduce inflammation and increase hydration, you want to use a generous amount and every single day. Take a pic before and after using it, you’ll see a difference. My eyes look way more calm and even feel tighter, it really does what it says.
Showing up to work or wherever in the morning looking like you’ve slept in your car is embarrassing. Take the extra few minutes and feel good about removing your shades to say hi to people you see knowing that your eyes don’t fully tell the tale of some scary witch dream that woke your whole family up last night.
