Harper is at the age where she wants to share clot

Harper is at the age where she wants to share clothes. It's adorable, but realistically I think
we’re still a few years out.

Recently I’ve been living in these insanely soft @thehomet sweatshirts that are among the softest and most comfortable I've ever had. You may remember them from Shark Tank? They give 10% of their profits to Multiple Sclerosis research which I love and their Be Kind shirt with the little heart is such a hit, someone asks where I got it every time I wear it. And, of course, Biggie.

Another rave- the sleeves are actually long enough! They're also priced around $30 a tee and have tons of categories like sports, family, and teachers so they make great gifts. My faves are the tops, hoodies, onesies, and hats they offer for each state (swipe for the ones I want next!)

Our transition from homeschool and camping to back

Our transition from homeschool and camping to back in school was a sudden one. I had our curriculum bought and ready to go and plans for a year of trips were made. We were so excited about another camping year.

But a few weeks after school began, our girls made the call to return to their school because they missed being with their friends. Camping and us 5 being together all of the time last year was the best time of our lives, our girls are still so bonded because of it. When it comes to their friends though, there really isn't a way to substitute the social setting and benefits of what school brings. Even though we were in activities, saw friends for playdates, and kept as active as we could, they were still not in the daily mix of things at school.

Now that we're halfway through the school year, they're asking all the time to go back to camping and homeschooling. I think
the grass is always greener. The plan for now is to fit in some shorter trips throughout the school year, and keep our summers dedicated to camping.

I'm not sure if we could ever duplicate that one magical year when everything just worked out for us, but we'll sure try and keep the fun going in our little camper when we can. 🏕

We hit the lights hard this time of year, but the tradition I like most is going house to house to see lights.

This one is known as the Gingerbread House and is put together with handmade panels. It’s perfection and a must-see.

This has always been a dream of mine, to have a house like this with lights that people come to see. I think I’m many years out from making it happen, so I’ll just enjoy everyone else’s labor and creativity for now. 🌲

Lola is ready to do what she does best- support her sisters. I’m glad that she’s getting to the age where she’ll get to be the one to shine in her activities too, because so far she has been a professional cheerleader for her sisters.

Today is a big Chorale performance for Harper and Everly, who has her first time on the big stage with @coloradochildrenschorale I’m so proud of them and the hard work they’ve put in. Sing your hearts out girls!

Happy Halloween!

Lola was wedding #moira which was the most challenging to create. It took many hours including their bonus grandma’s sewing skills to make the gown, the lining underneath, and the material onto the hat. The round hair piece is a wig cut and glued to a small wreath. Getting that and the hat to stay sturdy was the biggest challenge.

This year’s costumes was a lot of work but much fun. I would for sure do it again, in fact I already have an idea for next year…

Harper’s #moira costume was the one I was least

Harper’s #moira costume was the one I was least confident about but probably came out the best.

I got a long sleeve black dress and cut up sections of panty hose I got from the dollar store and hot glued each piece on. I started with cut up tee shirts (the ones on the back) but the weight was too heavy so I switched to panty hose.

The hat is from Amazon and I used Everly’s #crowshaveeyes feathers for them. This was from the Finding David episode where he goes to live with an Amish family.

This was also a glimpse of Harper as a teen because once that makeup was on, we all just kind of froze.
