There’s something so gratifying about scraping the bottom of a jar, knowing you’ve used it all and that you’re free, wait not just free, you’re obligated to buy something new. But it’s what to do with that empty jar that always gets me. I buy things sometimes because of the packaging so it doesn’t make sense to just toss it out.
I’ve been on a huge skincare DIY kick lately (I even have a Pinrerest board deticated to Skincare Hacks HERE) so I recently used this empty jar for a much better scrub that I made in minutes. The scrub that was in here ripped my face off with sharp, chunky bits then dried up in the jar when it was still half full. So, yea this wasn’t a winner.
About a zillion pinners agree that using honey and baking soda as a scrub makes skin glow, helps a ton with acne scarring, and eases dry patches. I use royal jelly in honey (to get added benefits) and mix in the baking soda until it’s a gritty paste. Apply it to a dry face using damp hands. I use several scoops while rubbing for several minutes then let it sit on my skin like a mask. The baking soda exfoliates so well and the honey offers pretty much every skin benefit you’d ever want so it truely makes my skin look a million times better. It tones, calms redness, and I can even see an imporvment with scarring. Tons of benefits and nothing but healthy ingredients from your kitchen!
Next time I’ll do an herbal infusion with the honey first to amp up the benefits even more. It looks pretty simple to do (famous last words.)
