Depressing fact of the day: During 2 out of my 3 pregnancies, there was a 6 month period where I lost my hair. A lot of hair. Not the usual postpartum loss either, a combo of hormones and my crazy thyroid issues start working their magic months before I deliver, and it goes on until the baby is 3 or 4 months. Unfortunately this was one of those pregnancies and it was just a few weeks ago when I stopped noticing clumps of hair everywhere. The worst part was out of the shower when I’d brush through my wet hair and just watch the comb fill up with wet curls. It sucks. I lost (not exaggerating) half of my hair this time.

After seeing so many fellow bloggers rave about Innersense and its safe line made using wild-harvested, biodynamic, and certified organic ingredients, I decided to give it a try. Innersense really believes in a ‘detox’ from other products to get your hair and scalp healthy and nourished so I’ve been using only their line. I got the Color Awakening Hairbath, Color Radiance Daily Conditioner, Inner Reflection Finishing Polish, and Sweet Spirit Leave In Conditioner. Although it didn’t stop my hair from falling out (nothing could), I did notice that its lifeless and spongy texture became much stronger. I was able to actually style it again because it would hold curl the way it always had. With each wash, I could see it coming back to life, looking fuller at the crown, and keep its style for days- just like it used to.
The best part of that first order, was the Sweet Spirit Leave-In Conditioner. It’s aloe-based and a safe ‘1’ rating on the Think Dirty app with soothing ingredients like lavender, thyme, rosemary, honey, and rice proteins. It doesn’t feel the way others leave-in sprays do because there isn’t that slick silicone slip I’m used to feeling- instead my hair felt relaxed, soft, and it was so much easier to comb through. I use it on the girls wet hair too which makes it really easy to comb out.

After about a week and a half, I made another purchase – shampoo, conditioner, and a curl cream for the girls. My little Harper has the sweetest little ringlet curls that actually need real haircare and moisture. She’s been frizz-free with perfect ringlets- it’s made a huge difference. It’s also safe and gentle so I know it’s good for them- a big bonus.
I bought 6 out of their 9 styling products, and all are a hit. For around $20 each, it rivals what I’d been paying for Aveda but doesn’t stink like hippie (sorry Aveda) and uses much better ingredients.
They were also nice enough to offer you a coupon code- enter HOB16 for 15% off thru May 15.
