We’re all just one drunken, double-dare filled night away from needing a tattoo cover, like a good friend who allowed me to cover her tattoo of… well I actually have no idea what it is. Needless to say, I covered it using the following products and techniques.
Start off with a thick concealer meant for heavy duty covering. I used Ben Nye Total Cover-All Wheel. Start using the lightest color all over with a foundation brush, then move on to using the pinky-peachy tones on the dark parts only with a concealer brush. End using the fleshy yellowish tones to return the skin back to its normal color.
Alternate using concealer with powder and let each step dry for a few minutes in between. Powdering gives the concealer something to stick to and makes the skin look more natural instead of a gobby mess of cream.
Over the concealer, I used Dermablend, a waterproof makeup meant for covering major skin imperfections. It’s probably the most popular product of its kind. It’s also inexpensive and easy to find.
All in all, the process should take 10-15 minutes. Don’t get discouraged if it doesn’t seem to be covering right away, get the right products and layer them on thinly over and again until you have the desired effect. If it turns out too light, use a little bronzer over until it matches your skin, if it’s a little dark just add powder. Just be patient and you’ll be amazed with the end result.
