Lily Donaldson at Gucci
Emulating looks you see in magazines is a great way to experiment and find your personal style. I remember I would tear out pages like this one and keep it handy to try out for a special occasion that called for something with a little more drama.
The key to creating a rich eye shadow look like the one shown, is layering. You’ll see I began with a cream eye base, then a powder shadow , followed by Laura Mercier’s Caviar Eye Liner used on the lid, topped by more powder shadow. By using cream, then powder, then cream, it creates a look that is rich and textured with more staying power than just powder alone.
Items used;
M.A.C Paints- Bare Canvas
Jane Iredale Brown Sugar Trio- On the lid
Laura Mercier Cavial Eye Liner- Black, used with my fingers on the lid
CARGO- Black pencil liner to tight line
Stila Liquid Eye Liner- Black, top lid only
Laura Mercier Metallic Cream Eye Color- Gold
Pixi by Petra- No. 9 Smokey Palette, used the violet and black shadow
Jane Iredale Eye Pencil- White to rim the lower lid
Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara- Waterproof, black
Any pointed smudgey brush will do. I think this one is from Sephora.
What kind of brush was used for the lower lid? Thanks for the tutorial! It was very helpful!
I think this stuff is so cool.
