Few things make me happier than skincare solutions that deliver on promised results. I’ve tried a ton of things from Kiehl’s lately, but I had to highlight these two first because they are so awesome for that 1-2 punch in brightening the skin and giving it blanced hydration.
Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate is everything a Vitamin C serum should be, it’s the best and most potent type (L-Ascorbic), a huge 10.5% dose in a light serum with a great safety rating (4 on the Think Dirty app.) Use it in the daytime under your sunscreen and you will see a boost in radiance, texture, and softness. L-Ascorbic is also well studied to help lessen skin wrinkling, so it can also help to ease the look of fine lines. If you aren’t already using a C, you should add one in to your routine.
At night it’s all about Midnight Recovery, a light oil that features over a dozen botanicals known for their brightening and healing propertes. You can use it under a moisturizer but I use it in place of one. I love how it makes my skin looks so glowy and rested in the morning.
So 3 random facts about Kiehl’s:
1. They guarentee everything you buy from them. If after 28 days your skin doesn’t look better, they’ll refund you.
2. Nothing from Kiehl’s in the many years I’ve been reviewing it has ever broken me out or given my skin any sort of reaction. It’s one of the few lines that just agrees with me and also works well.
3. You can pop into any of their locations and have your skin tested for hydration. They have this hand-held thermometer looking device that they hold up to your cheek for a few seconds before giving a readout with a percentage of moisture found in your skin. It’s a really cool way to see if you’re getting enough moisture because as you know dry skin looks old- that’s why we’re all trying to keep as much hydration on our faces as possible. (This is why older women in humid climates look so much better than their dry climate counterparts. Bummer for me here in Colorado.) The whole thing takes just a few minutes and it’s free with no obligation to buy anything.
