Not since high school have I used a drugstore brand foundation. But here I am. 32 and love, love, loving L’Oreal True Match.
First, you’ll find your shade right off the bat so you won’t be wasting money, stuck with one that doesn’t work. Attached to the display are their 24 shades represented by color swatches on a clear plastic card, so when you hold it up to your skin, the correct shade will disappear. Not that it has to be exact, which is the whole point of why this foundation is so cool.
L’Oreal’s Precise Match technology turns a color that might be just a little off into one that melts undetected into the skin also matching its texture so you see beautifully even skin- not makeup. Their formula is great for all ages and skin types since it’s free of oil, fragrance, and fillers with a just-right amount of SPF 17.
I reached for True Match when I would’ve otherwise grabbed my Jane Iredale mineral makeup just because my face was so flakey from the Retin-A I’ve been using, and liquid makeup always makes imperfections look even worse. True Match blended into my dry patches and disguised my redness for seamless coverage that looked natural, and stayed on throughout the day, even without setting powder.
$10, 24 Shades, Available at Drugstore.com, and Drugstores Nationwide
