VERT Beauty has replaced Sephora as my go-to beauty destination here in Denver. Their specialty is eco-chic lines and they carry all of my faves (Jane Iredale, One Love Organics, Alima Pure, and Tata Harper to name a few) but when I stopped in last weekend I was thrilled to see that they finally carried the one line I’ve been dying to try- May Lindstrom.
I been coveting her Blue Cocoon balm that was sold out for while when it first launched, and came THISCLOSE to buying one, but I ended up buying the #1 thing on my list that I wanted to try: The Clean Dirt. In this beautiful thick glass bottle (which I’ll never throw away) is a powder made from different clays, Vitamin C, and spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, turmeric, and clove with vanilla and raw cacao (chocolate), it smells like a spicy chai latte. When you add water, it turns into a gritty mousse that exfoliates while it cleans, and feels really active and tingly. You can rinse it off right away, or do what I’ve been doing which is to leave it on for a few minutes and let it absorb and wake up your skin. It instantly increases circulation and gives my face that pinkish glow as if I just left a steam room or came back from a run (I can faintly remember how that used to look.) It’s unlike anything I’ve ever used so now of course I’m considering dishing out for the balm or this serum which has every essential oil that I love all mixed in to one little bottle. Damn it. Now I’m addicted.
Also pictured is VERT’s own brushes and mineral-based eye liners which are awesome. I wore one yesterday and it didn’t budge but was really easy to glide on and blend.
The light colored bottle is Omsia’s Body Oil that I picked up in November and will never be without. I use a few splashes after my shower when my skin is still wet, then towel off. It makes my skin so soft that I’ll barely use any body butter after. It also has a really intoxicating scent that’s light and sweet that lingers slightly but doesn’t overpower.
If you’re in Denver, pop into VERT, if not check them out online and make sure to follow me on Instagram if you haven’t already to see snaps of things that don’t always make the blog.
