If you’re wondering if I’ll give in to the hype and use Monistat’s Chafing Relief Powder Gel on my face as a primer because I hear it’s all the rage, the answer is absolutely.
True, it’s designed for your southern hemisphere to give a barrier of protection and guard against chafing, but the ingredients are almost identical to what big name primers are made of.
Now let’s get it straight- it’s not a treatment for the yeast beast, it’s quite simply a silicon barrier that turns from a gel to a powdery consistency that acts the same way a foundation primer would.
Since it has all of the basics for ingredients you’d see in a primer, (Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Silica, Tocopheryl Acetate, Trisiloxane) without colorings, fragrance, and added moisture, some say that it’s a better primer for sensitive and acne-prone skin.
Here’s a great review of why women are using Monistat Chafing Relief Powder Gel as a primer.
Along with a video review of it.
I’ll keep you posted on my thoughts as well while I give it a whirl.
No- I’m waiting for my drugstore.com order to come in- any day!
I really wanted to use it for Fox tomorrow because it’s such a good money saving tip, but I don’t have the heart!
I hope you’re going to enter to win some goodies again!!
Have you tried this yet? Wondering what you think. Oh, and tell Mike he’s awesome!
