I’ve said it before, but it’s always worth mentioning that I really believe in natural and organic lipsticks and glosses for everyday use because most of it ends up in your mouth. It’s a different story for my kit where my lip colors have to be long wearing, but for myself I stick to brands like Jane Iredale, Ilia, Bite, Alima Pure, and Burt’s Bees which is actually one of my favorites. I picked these up last week at Pharmaca when I purged many of my lip colors which were about 2 years old. (You should do the same, creams go bad after about a year/ year and a half).
Out of the 3, I’ve used the Lip Shine ($8) the most which gives this awesome pink glaze of color. It doesn’t wear as long as the other two, but I like the look of a gloss during the summer so I’m fine reapplying. The gloss in the wand ($9) has a little shimmer and a formula less thick than the shine so it stays on longer, I use it over a balm sometimes to add moisture. That Lip Crayon ($9) was the dark horse of the group, with an easy balm-like texture and just enough color, it’s a subtle way to wear a lip color without having to feel it on or give any thought to how precise your application might be. Soon I’ll pick another up in a deep berry shade which won’t look as intense because of it’s light weight.
I’ve always bought their balms (this one is my fave which I have 4 of scattered around the house), but now I’m a total convert for their whole lip line. Check em out next time you’re looking for a natural way to brighten up your pout.
