The team over at Dr. Brandt recently sent over this box of amazing goodies that I couldn’t wait to dive into. Whenever I’ve tried something from them, I’ve always found the results to be pretty great. Here you’ll find a solution for stubborn blackheads, a wrinkle-reducer, mask for sagging skin, skin-perfecting primer, and skin polisher. Everything you need for whatever skin problem you might have. Here are some thoughts on each.
Microdermabrasion has aluminum oxide crystals which feel like gritty wet sand, one of my fave ways to exfoliate because it isn’t too harsh, but really softens and completely rejuvenates the skin. I use it in the shower and let it stay on for a few minutes like a mask where it breaks down a little so it isn’t so gritty and rinses away easily. Whenever your skin is looking dull and tired, or if those acne scars aren’t fading as quickly as you’d like them to- you need to commit to exfoliating a few times a week and you’ll see a huge difference.
They call Pores No More Vacuum Cleaner the ‘extractor mask’ because it helps to shake loose annoying blackheads and clogged pores. It won’t remove them, but if you’re a picker it really helps to soften that surface area so you can (gently!) extract everything out. Just use it as you would a mask for 5-10 minutes and then remove it with a warm washcloth to bring some steam to the skin. Once it’s is dry, you’ll be able to clear out all of that debris much quicker and without a ton of effort- which is so much better for your skin than just picking at it without prepping it first which is why your skin is less red after a facial than when you dig at it at home without steam and gentle acids that encourage the release of buildup.
Pores No More Pore Refiner Primer has blurring technology that really does work. Used under makeup or on days when you’re without foundation, it reduces the look of uneven skin, pores, and fine lines. It also erases shine and acts like a shield to protect skin from makeup which can clog pores. I’ve used a blurring primer in my kit for years because of the difference they make. If you were to use it on one side of your face and not the other, you’d be able to see the difference- that’s how well and how immediate it works.
So I know that they call Needles No More 3-D Filler Mask a ‘mask’ but it seems like more of a leave-on treatment that you put on the areas of your face that tend to lose density. This explains it better:
So you put it on clean skin, then apply your moisturizer over it. I’ve only used it a few times at night and it does feel cooling and tingly like something is happening and it gives a skin-tightening feel. I can’t speak to what it does long term, but I also don’t think I’m that ‘saggy’ yet. I have 99 problems, but sagging ain’t one.
If you really want to bust out the big guns, it’s their new Needles No More that you want. I’ve been replacing my skincare with more natural choices when possible, but I’ve done Botox for years (go figure) which I swore off a few months back after my last treatment. I think I need just one thing that’s not made from unicorns and tree bark that’s going to fight like hell to keep my skin from looking like an old leather shoe. This one uses peptides and patented wrinkle relaxers to ease the look of fine lines and smooth out skin. You just pat a small amount into crow’s feet, between brows, and forehead- wherever wrinkles are most pronounced. It’s worth a try especially since that whole frozen Botox look isn’t cute, and those new scary findings on Botox traveling from the injection site, not to mention it’s also crazy expensive ($500+ a pop) and wears off quicker than you’d think. Before booking that appointment with your derm, it’s worth it to try this out first.
But woah- I’m obsessed with this crazy mask that’s filled with magnetized iron and comes off using an actual magnet! There’s a Rachel Ray segment HERE that shows it in action. They didn’t send it to me but I’ve watched the video twice because I can’t get over how cool this thing is!
