I used to be like ‘what purse matches this outfit’ and now it’s more like ‘spit up is the new black.’ Yes, things change when you have kids, especially in the beginning when you dive into it head first and ditch everything on and around you that isn’t baby-related. After a while though you start waking up from zombie mode and you want to feel more normal- like your ‘old self’ whatever that means. After I stopped carrying matching purses I used this cheap fabric pouch that I’d toss in the diaper bag, but now I’ve transitioned to my Tusk Capri Double Zip Checkbook Clutch and I think I finally have a winner.
I actually asked Mike for this last Christmas after Oprah chose it as one of her favorite things (long live that list!!)
It’s deceiving because it’s so compact, but it actually holds a ton- keys, phone, gloss, and pens with room to spare for cards and cash. It’s a casual clutch with a grown up vibe because the leather is beautiful and it’s constructed really well so I know I’ll have it forever. Not carrying a purse means no extra bulk with another bag to carry, just the basics stashed away in a sleek little package.
There’s something nice about this little wallet that makes me feel more put together even if I am in workout clothes with my hair in some sort of knot on top of my head. It’s also kinda amazing to think that somewhere in the world, living a totally different life, Oprah might be carrying around the same damn thing.
This is the one I have Black/Magenta it’s actually just a bright red.
I liked this one too in Sapphire/Moss.
Then there’s Plum/Sapphire which doesn’t look plum to me at all actually.
