The greatest lipstick collection of all time (as touted by myself as well as pretty much everyone who’s tried them) is Tom Ford Lips & Boys. My friend Carla was telling me how she loved one of their shades so much she bought 3 extras (at like $50 a pop) because she couldn’t imagine life without them. Planning to be totally unimpressed, I made my way to Nordstrom to check out this much sought after (and mostly sold out) lineup of lip shades named after Ford’s ex beaus. From Orlando, to Henry, to Gustavo, each lipstick represents a guy from his past. My pics? From left to right: Jullian, Oliver, Flynn, Collin, Peter, Didier, and John. Mine are the mini size ($32) which fit perfectly into my Walgreen’s $99 pill box so I can save room in my kit. I hated having to smush up these colorful little sculptures and it took me almost a week to do it, but it needed to be done. If you have a ton of lipsticks, grab a pill organizer (get the small size and clear so you can see the colors) and use a butter knife to cut and smash them into each cube. Some people melt them, but I don’t mind them being textured and imperfect. You’ll find that you use colors that you typically didn’t just because you can see them and you’ll also mix them with other shades to create new combos.
