We’re so inundated with ingredients and buzz words that we often don’t understand why we’re buying certain products and what’s really beneficial for the skin.
Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid), comes in many different forms and can be found in serums, gels, and creams. Since vitamin c can be unstable (change and become less effective), products packaged in dark packaging like amber glass or plastic is best. Air tight containers are great too. Once you buy something with vitamin c, use it daily until it’s gone. This isn’t the product you want to keep on the shelf for a year- it will be useless.
Some other things to keep in mind;
Vitamin C has been shown to slow down wrinkling effects.
It’s also useful to bring down scaring and hyper-pigmentation like sun spots.
Get something that contains L-Ascorbic Acid when possible. It’s the most stable form so it absorbs best into the skin
It’s also been shown to help with sun protection.
Vitamin C also adds an instant brightness and radiance to the skin and is a leading antioxidant, meaning it helps defend your skin from aging elements in the air.
