Éminence is one of my most purchased and most beloved skincare lines. When the gals at Alchemy Face Bar use it, they explain why they love it and what their faves are, so when I get my facials I stock up. Sometimes I’m lucky enough to get some goodies in the mail (Thank you Éminence and Pierce Mattie!) so I can try them out and pass the word on. Reviews like these write themselves because this is such an easy-to-use (and easier to love) line of organic skincare with an elegant twist in beautiful packaging that makes each product (from their Hungarian farm) a pleasure to use.
Their new Pure Forest collection contains mushrooms which are known to be powerful adaptogens meaning they have stimulant properties that help counteract harmful effects in the body. They bring imbalances back to baseline so when used in skincare they can have powerful effects. In their new line, Pure Forest, Éminence uses Snow Mushroom which is a super humectant that can absorb 500x its weight in water to pull moisture back into the skin and increase collagen production. They also use Reishi which is one of my favorite adaptogens that I take daily. It’s known to heal, reduce inflammation, and protect. It also boosts skin cell rejuvenation and signs of free radical damage. They also use Birch Water to detoxify, purify, and hydrate. Where birch trees are planted, the air around them is cleaned and pollution reduced by 50%.
Here are the (affiliate link-free) highlights from their new Pure Forest Collection (and a few of their best sellers):
If you’re into a gentle cream cleanser this is a great one. I’m typically a fan of the foam, but Calm Skin Chamomile Cleanser has a richness that doesn’t break down and dissipate when you’re cleansing. I use it with my Make Up Eraser and it removes ev-ree-thang- no mascara or trace of foundation is left behind. If you’re dry (and who isn’t this time of year?) it’s a great option to clean without stripping.
After cleansing, Birch Water Purifying Essence puts moisture and nutrients back into the skin with Birch Water, Snow Mushroom and Reishi Mushroom. It’s applied like a toner with a cotton pad, but I pat it on instead of wiping it away so I can keep the benefits on my face. It visibly calms red inflamed skin and leaves my sin feeling hydrated and prepped for what comes next.
I’m a self-confessed eye cream connoisseur so it’s hard to impress me. I have 4 or 5 on hand and rotate them out depending on how I’m looking. (Tired, mostly.) This Snow Mushroom Cloud Eye Cream is one that I will buy again and again. Éminence called it ‘luxuriously fluffy’ and honestly there isn’t a better way to describe it. It’s thick, dense, hydrating, and whipped into a cream that melts into skin so well leaving behind the slightest slip. It also contains Birch Water, Reishi Mushroom, Snow Mushroom, and Botanical Peptides and because it also relieves puffiness can be used day and night.
Éminence is really good at masks. Alchemy uses them in my facials and I always leave glowing. When I’m on my mask game my skin looks so fresh and rested. Their new Snow Mushroom & Reshi Masque also contains mushrooms, birch water, and natural collagen to heal, purify, hydrate, and boost cell regeneration, but it also has Paracress Extract to firm and tighten which you can actually feel it do. It feels like a dense cream that doesn’t become dry so it’s easy to wipe away. Non clay masks are great to use often since theyr’e more gentle on the skin and especially before an event when you want your skin to shine.
A primer with SPF 23 is perfect for winter days. Lilioi Light Defense Primer is a physical sunscreen using Zinc and Titanium Dioxide with Cocoa Seed Extract- an antioxidant that protects skin from blue light stress, and Lilikoi (Passion Fruit) Seed Oil that hydrates and firms. The result is a light weight sun screen that’s easy to blend in and gives the skin a smooth surface for makeup.
Not a part of the Pure Forest Collection, but pictured and worth mentioning is their Rosehip Triple C+E Oil that I first bought years ago and have loved ever since. Vitamins C&E along with EFA’s are amazing for the skin and this serum gives so much clean moisture that feels great. It has a ton of other essentials and extracts with a list too long to name making it more dynamic than just a straight C serum giving additional benefits to the skin.
Also worth mentioning is their Éminence Kids Foundation. Boldijarre Koronczay, the company’s founder, was diagnosed with a rare leukemia as a child and was given a 0.1% chance of survival. He attributes his survival to the healthy, organic foods his mother and grandmother fed him during his treatments. Their Kids Foundation donates organic food to sick kids around the world who might not otherwise wouldn’t have access to them. Since launching in 2013, they have donated thousands of gallons of organic cold-pressed juice, thousands of pounds of organic fruits, and hundreds of gallons of organic nutritious handmade soup totaling over 43,418 meals.
