This week I have exactly two obsessions I’ve been Googling non stop: Bee Pollen and Shea Butter. Thanks for Goop.com I did a major deep dive on bee pollen and royal jelly that eventually landed me in Vitamin Cottage for some Royal Jelly supplements and Royal Jelly in honey that I now use as a mask. And after the package Out Of Africa sent me, I’m practically an expert on shea butter and its many uses. I had no idea that it was used to treat so many things like eczema, acne, insect bites, and even arthritis. Apparently it’s anti-inflammatory and has some really unique healing properties. I love it because it moisturizes like nothing else I’ve ever used. It has this magical ability to completely hydrate my skin without leaving any trace of grease or the slightest slip behind. I used the lotion right before I started typing and my keyboard has zero trace of oil anywhere on it. Apparently the chemical makeup of shea butter is similar to the body’s own sebaceous glands which might be the reason my hands feel like naturally hydrated skin and not like they’re covered in lotion. It sort of redefines the whole lotion experience and just puts your skin back into balance taking away all signs of dryness. I’ll definitely buy more of the oil $18 because it keeps my skin so super soft all day when I use it after showering.
