Wow, Seriously, just wow. I mean, it shouldn’t be a total surprise how incredible this serum is because it’s by S.W. Basics, the same line I just raved about that’s now sold at Target. When I asked S.W.’s Founder Adina Grigore if their cream might be too hydrating for my breakout-prone skin she sent this Oil Serum ($30) right over for me to try. It’s a weird name, but it really does encompass both the feel of a light serum with the hydrating power of an oil. It’s like nothing I’ve used and I compare it to rubbing straight softness into my skin which is how it feels. My skin looks and feels better after I use it right away.
Keeping with their ‘5 ingredients or fewer’ formulations, this bottle only contains Organic Avocado Oil, Organic Geranium Oil, Organic Turmeric Oil, and Coffee Oil which does drive the scent for a fresh cup of coffee sort of smell when you first put it on which is slight and quickly fades away. Sometimes at night it’s just enough moisture for me, but during the day I add my SPF over it and I never get shiny or feel greasy. It absorbs almost immediately just leaving behind a post-facial glow that’s pretty amazing.
It’s just one of those exciting rare finds that I’ll continue to buy and recommend to anyone who will listen. Dry, oily, any anyone in between, this is something for you.
BTW- I think I mentioned it last time, but Adina’s book Skin Cleanse gives you tons of DIY recipes for skincare (which is pretty cool considering that competes directly with her line) along with some really great info on why it’s important to keep your skincare as basic as you can. I downloaded it on iBooks a few weeks back and have been learning a ton.
